ICYMI: Senator Rick Scott Launches “Farmers for Rick Scott” Coalition
Tampa, FL – Last Thursday, Senator Rick Scott announced the “Farmers for Rick Scott” coalition made up of Florida statewide leaders and Florida ag groups that have announced their support for Senator Scott’s re-election. Since the announcement, Senator Scott has traveled the Sunshine State and speaking with Florida farmers, growers, and ranchers about how he has been advocating for them in Washington, and what he will continue to do when he’s re-elected in November.
Senator Scott kicked off the “Farmers for Rick Scott” tour at South Naples Orange grove where he took a tour and spoke with Florida citrus growers about how will continue to fight for critical hurricane recovery aid that’s being blocked by Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress. He then met with leaders of the Florida Cattlemen Association to discuss what he’s doing in Washington to ensure Florida’s cattle ranchers have what they need to succeed.
Yesterday, Senator Scott visited the iconic Parkesdale farms to speak about how important Florida farmers are to the national and global supply chain. At the event, Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Wilton Simpson announced his endorsement of Senator Scott and outlined the work they have done – and will continue to do – on behalf of Florida agriculture.
Florida Agriculture groups supporting Senator Scott include:
- Florida Farm Bureau
- Florida Citrus Mutual
- Florida Forestry Association
- Cedar Key Aquaculture Association
