Tampa, FL – Recent legislation passed the House that would ban TikTok in the U.S. if parent company ByteDance, a Chinese-owned corporation forced to share users’ data with the Chinese Communist Party, doesn’t divest ownership. The bill now heads to the Senate, where it is expected to have bipartisan support. Senator Scott has been clear that TikTok poses a threat to national security and should be banned.
Where does Florida Democrats’ radical senate candidate stand on the CCP having access to the data of Americans? Not only is she refusing to admit the national security risks posed by Chinese owned TikTok, but she is herself active on TikTok and has previously bragged about it.
Statement from Team Rick Scott Spokesman Will Hampson: “The Communist Chinese Party having access to the personal information of millions of Americans is undoubtedly a national security risk. Instead of trying to protect Floridians, Congresswoman Mucarsel-Powell is acting as a spokeswoman for the CCP. This isn’t surprising though, since the Congresswoman has made a habit of standing with dictators and oppressive regimes. Floridians care about national security and care about protecting our children – they will reject Congresswoman Mucarsel-Powell for her weakness.”
