ICYMI – Debbie is Screwed
TAMPA, Fla. – Today, reporting in the Floridian is saying what most political insiders already know: Debbie Mucarsel-Powell is in trouble and may not even win her Democrat Primary in August.
According to the article, “Nikki Barnes—a campaign staffer and former Democratic National Convention member—pointed to Mucarsel-Powell losing her Congressional seat in 2020 after just one term to Republican Carlos Gimenez, questioning, ‘For me up here in North Florida, I look at that and say ‘hmm, your stronghold is supposed to be the Latino community down there, and you can’t win them for your reelection?'”
“Debbie has a problem,” Barnes added in the article.
These comments come on the heels of a number of red flags for Mucarsel-Powell. She reported only $2.7 million cash on hand at the end of Q1. Compare that to Val Demings who had nearly $13 million cash on hand during the same time period, and former Senator Bill Nelson who ended up spending nearly $33 million with universal name ID as the incumbent when he lost to Rick Scott in 2018.
With nobody knowing who she is, a cash deficit, and a campaign already reporting severe financial debts, it certainly is looking like Debbie is screwed in what appears to be shaping up to be a competitive Democrat primary.
