Weston, FL – Today, Senator Rick Scott hosted  a roundtable with Colombian community leaders, “Colombians for Rick Scott” coalition members, and freedom fighters in Weston to commemorate Colombian Independence Day and reaffirm his support for the Colombian community in Florida. Senator Scott also highlighted his commitment to hold Gustavo Petro and dangerous dictators accountable and ensure socialism does not take root in this country.

Senator Rick Scott said, “It is an honor to commemorate Colombian Independence Day with the incredible Colombian community in Weston. I’m proud to have support from so many Colombian business and community leaders in the Sunshine state and I will always work to make sure they can live out their dreams in Florida.

“Colombia has been one of our greatest allies in Latin America, but under President Petro, the country is going down the path of socialism and getting closer to our adversaries, terrorists and evil regimes that want to destroy the American way of life. The United States should take action to support Colombia, but instead, President Biden’s weakness and appeasement has allowed dictators to destabilize the region, spread socialism and terror, and let Iran, Russia, and Communist China expand their influence in our Hemisphere. We cannot let it continue. I will always stand with the people of Colombia, and I will keep doing everything I can in the Senate to stop Biden’s appeasement policies, hold evil regimes accountable, secure our border, protect national security and fight so every single person in our state has the opportunity to live the American dream.”

El Senador Rick Scott realiza una mesa redonda con líderes colombianos para conmemorar el Día de la Independencia de Colombia

Weston, FL – El Senador Rick Scott realizó una mesa redonda con líderes comunitarios colombianos, miembros de la coalición “Colombians for Rick Scott” y luchadores por la libertad en Weston para conmemorar el Día de la Independencia de Colombia y reafirmar su apoyo a la comunidad colombiana que llama a Florida su hogar. El Senador Scott también destacó su compromiso de responsabilizar a Gustavo Petro y a los dictadores peligrosos y garantizar que el socialismo no tenga lugar en este país.

El Senador Rick Scott dijo: “Es un honor conmemorar el Día de la Independencia de Colombia con la increíble comunidad colombiana en Weston. Estoy orgulloso de contar con el apoyo de tantos líderes empresariales y comunitarios colombianos en el estado del sol, y siempre trabajaré para asegurarme de que puedan vivir sus sueños en Florida.

“Colombia ha sido uno de nuestros mayores aliados en América Latina, pero con el Presidente Petro, el país está yendo por el camino del socialismo y acercándose a nuestros adversarios, terroristas y regímenes malvados que quieren destruir el estilo de vida estadounidense. Estados Unidos debería tomar medidas para apoyar a Colombia, pero en cambio, la debilidad y el apaciguamiento del Presidente Biden han dejado a los dictadores desestabilizar la región, propagar el socialismo y el terror, y expandir la influencia de Irán, Rusia y la China comunista en nuestro hemisferio. No podemos permitir que esto continúe.  Siempre estaré con el pueblo de Colombia y seguiré haciendo todo lo que pueda en el Senado para detener las políticas de apaciguamiento de Biden, responsabilizar a los regímenes malvados, asegurar nuestra frontera, proteger la seguridad nacional de Estados Unidos y luchar para que cada persona en nuestro estado tenga la oportunidad de vivir el sueño americano”.
