Senator Rick Scott Joins Latin American Leaders to Demand Kamala Harris and Debbie Mucarsel-Powell Wake Up to the Threat of Socialism

Rick Scott for Senate

MIAMI, Fla. – Today, Senator Rick Scott held a press conference in Miami to emphasize his unwavering support for freedom in Latin America, call for the immediate release of political prisoners in Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua, and condemn Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Debbie Mucarsel-Powell for abandoning freedom, appeasing dictators and allowing for the spread of socialism in our hemisphere.

During the press conference, Senator Scott was joined by human rights activists, community leaders, and former political prisoners from Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, who shared their personal experiences under these oppressive regimes, warned about the grave threat socialism poses to our country, and reiterated their support for Senator Rick Scott.

Senator Rick Scott said, “Venezuelans, Cubans, and Nicaraguans in Florida know firsthand the dangers of socialism, and they are fighting tirelessly to prevent the spread of this destructive ideology in the United States. The horrors these brave leaders shared today are a stark reminder of what happens under socialist regimes and when dictators are met with appeasement and weakness. Kamala Harris should be unequivocally calling out these horrors and standing up for freedom, but she can’t even recognize Edmundo González as President-elect. My opponent, Debbie Mucarsel-Powell, stands by silently.  She will not call out the Biden/Harris administration for refusing to recognize him as President-elect. She won’t even recognize him as President-elect. Debbie is complicit in Biden and Harris allowing these dictators to continue their brutal oppression, destabilize the region and threaten the national security of the United States. It’s shameful.”
