Will Debbie Condemn Swastika-Using Florida Dem?
TAMPA, Fla. – This week, the Sarasota Democratic Party is officially endorsing Dale Anderson, a candidate for Hospital Board who used a Swastika 34 times when drawing the “undeniable parallels” between Adolf Hitler’s Germany and those who register as Republicans in today’s GOP.
In their recent reporting, Florida Politics this week called on the Sarasota Democrats to rescind their endorsement, saying, “Regardless of party affiliation, no candidate for public office — let alone a Hospital Board seat — should be comparing an entire portion of the population to the Nazi Party. Sarasota County is home to 158,902 registered Republicans. Does Anderson really believe they’re all Hitlers in disguise?”
Furthermore, they rightfully ask, “How would those Republicans feel seeking medical care at the five-star Sarasota Memorial Hospital knowing one of its Board members likens them to those who perpetrated the mass slaughter of 6 million Jews?”
Ironically, Sarasota Democratic Party Chair Daniel Kuether issued a statement Monday after a second assassination attempt of Donald Trump, urging “all Americans to reject violence and hatred and embrace dialogue and unity instead.” Kuether endorsed someone comparing all Republicans to Nazis the next day.
As Debbie Mucarsel-Powell continues to call Rick Scott “dangerous,” and “a threat,” she is unwilling to condemn the Sarasota Democrat Party and the troubling rhetoric of Mr. Anderson.
Statement from Team Rick Scott Spokesman Will Hampson: “The comments from Dale Anderson are disgusting, and the Sarasota Democrats endorsing him in spite of them is repulsive. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell is a coward and a hypocrite for not speaking up against this vile and violent rhetoric. Meanwhile, she wants to talk about everyone else’s rhetoric being ‘dangerous’ and ‘a threat.’ Mucarsel-Powell is going to lose big in November, and deservedly so, because she’s clearly a complete fraud who should be nowhere near the Senate.”
