Senator Rick Scott: Kamala Harris Needs to be Held Accountable for Botched Afghanistan Withdrawal
TAMPA, FL. – Today, Senator Rick Scott released the following statement on the three-year anniversary of the Biden-Harris botched Afghanistan withdrawal that killed 13 American soldiers, put thousands of Americans at risk, and emboldened our enemies around the world. Kamala Harris, who has admittedly been closely aligned with Biden for the last three and a half years, bragged she was the last person in the room before President Joe Biden made the decision to pull all U.S. troops out of Afghanistan.
What does Harris have to say on the anniversary?
Senator Rick Scott said, “Three years ago the Biden-Harris botched withdrawal from Afghanistan began that took the lives of 13 brave American service members and handed a country back to the same Taliban terrorists that held it on 9/11, all so Joe Biden and Kamala Harris could try to score a few political points. The disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal highlighted Joe Biden’s inability to operate as Commander-in-Chief, and Kamala Harris was right there with him – bragging that she was the last in the room when the decision was made. Their display of weakness showed our adversaries they could take advantage of us and our allies. American lives were lost, our citizens were abandoned, billions in military equipment was left to be taken by the Taliban and there has been zero accountability for this deadly failure. That’s the Harris MO – make terrible decisions that destroy the lives of the American people, then try to distance herself from any involvement. We know four years of woke weakness from Kamala Harris in the White House will only lead to more war and turmoil abroad, the likes of which we’ve never seen. If we want to save American lives, return to peace through strength, and ensure what happened in Afghanistan never happens again, we must win in November.”
